British Transport Police have launched the application process for their first part-time roles within the force.

Currently they are offering part-time roles at four locations in London; Kings Cross, Victoria, Finsbury Park and Albany House.

There will be a requirement to work a minimum of 20 hours across a normal working week although rosters can be discussed on a case by case basis – with both operational and the individual’s requirements given consideration.

Officers will complete 30 weeks of initial training with one third of the programme being run remotely. This will be followed by eight weeks with a Tutor Constable.

Officers will have the same conditions of service and would begin on a starting salary of over £29,000 (plus a London Allowance if necessary).

Other forces, including the Met and GMP, have previously recruited for part-time cohorts.
