Applications are invited from substantive Inspectors seeking transfer and substantive Sergeants who are appropriately qualified (including those in temporary and acting Sergeant Positions) from Home Office Forces.

The application window opens on 15th April 2024 and the closing date for applications to be submitted is 2359 hrs 10th May 2024.  Please allow sufficient time for first and second line management to complete their sections of the application form.

As this promotion process has been brought forward from the previously published dates, candidates who are due to sit the Inspector NPPF Step 2 legal knowledge exam in May 2024, will be eligible to submit an application for this promotion process.  Once the Step 2 results are released, candidates who are unsuccessful at Step 2 will be immediately withdrawn from the promotion process.

Shortlisting results will be communicated week commencing 13th May 2024 and if your application is successfully shortlisted you will be put through to the next stage of the process and you will be sent an email from your recruitment account.

Interviews are currently scheduled to take place between 28th May 2024 and 14th June 2024. 

 Please note that applications and subsequent interviews will be based on the Competency and Values Framework (CVF).

Any candidate who is unsuccessful in this promotion process at either the application sift or interview, will be encouraged to commence a promotion development plan, identifying areas for improvement.

Successful candidates who are qualified through the Ospre route, will be required to undertake the 12 month Work Based Assessment (Step 4 NPPF) following promotion.
