The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force are recruiting for a new Commissioner.

Mr Trevor Botting is coming to the end of his tenure after he was  appointed as Commissioner in July 2019 having previously served as Deputy Commissioner from May 2017.

He said it has been a "privilege" to lead and serve the members of the force.

The force is made up of two divisions. Division A contains three islands; Grand Turk, South Caicos and Salt Cay and Division B consists of two islands; Providenciales and North Caicos.

There are around 400 sworn Police Officers, a team of special constables, District Constables and Civilian Support staff.

The estimated population is approximately 42,000.

Commissioner Botting said: "It has been my privilege to lead and serve the men and woman of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force for the last four years as Commissioner, and for over two years prior to that as the Deputy Commissioner.

"I am proud of what the Force has achieved in this time and I am confident that it will continue to develop to meet the challenges it faces. My departure from post will be carried out in a way that causes the least disruption to the Force and the services we provide to protect our communities and all those who visit our islands."

Her Excellency the Governor, Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam said:
"Commissioner Botting has served the Turks and Caicos Islands with dedicated care for the past six years.

"As Commissioner of Police, he has led the Force with professionalism, dealing with a changing policing landscape that has become ever more challenging and complex.

"During his tenure, Commissioner Botting has also worked with partners across the criminal justice system, to implement wider safeguards for victims of crime. I would like to thank him for his service and wish him all the best with his future endeavours."
