Police Scotland will have a reshuffled leadership team for the two months between the departure of current chief constable Sir Iain Livingstone and the arrival of his replacement CC Jo Farrell.

The Scottish Police Authority (SPA) has confirmed that the force's deputy chief constable designate Fiona Taylor will take on those responsibilities from when Sir Iain departs on August 10 until CC Farrell arrives on October 9.

Assistant Chief Constable Alan Speirs will become DCC for Professionalism, Strategy and Engagement, on a temporary basis.

Chief Superintendent Faroque Hussain and Chief Superintendent Stuart Houston have been appointed as Temporary Assistant Chief Constable’s to fill current vacancies.

SPA Chair Martyn Evans said the temporary appointments will "bring excellent skills and experience to the leadership team".

After nearly six years in the top job, Sir Iain announced his intention to retire in February.

The current Durham chief, who also holds the NPCC portfolio for Digital, Data and Technology, was confirmed as his replacement in June on an initial four-year fixed term contract.
