North Yorkshire is welcoming a new ACC to the force today.

Having already spent 28 years with West Yorkshire, ACC Scott Bisset has served in uniformed operational roles including response, Armed Policing, Neighbourhood Policing and as a detective.

In 2014, he led a force-wide review for WYP to improve the response to calls from the public, crime investigation, problem solving, early intervention and prevention in partnership with local authorities, charitable organisations and the business community.

He was promoted to ACC in 2020 and was appointed to lead the National Police Air Service.

ACC Bisset is a Strategic Firearms and Gold Public Order Commander and will be responsible for Local Policing.

He said: “I am very excited to join the North Yorkshire team at a tough time for policing, partners and the public and looking forward to working in a place where I have deep personal roots.

“I have been impressed by the commitment of the officers, staff and volunteers I have already met in North Yorkshire Police who have a clear commitment to serve the public and make a positive difference to peoples’ lives.

“I am privileged to have the chance to lead, support and learn from my new colleagues in keeping the communities of North Yorkshire safe.”
