The current Deputy Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police (TVP) has been named as the preferred candidate to be appointed as the force's next Chief Constable.

An investigator with an expertise in homicide investigation, DCC Jason Hogg started his career with Cleveland Police in 1995 before transferring to Hampshire in 2001 as a Detective Sergeant.

He was promoted to TVP DCC in 2019 after joining the force three years earlier as Assistant Chief Constable, having also served as the Chief Officer lead for the South East Counter Terrorism Unit & Regional Organised Crime Unit.

A confirmation hearing for the posting is due to take place on November 18.

The current incumbent, CC John Campbell, is to retire at the end of his term on March 31 next year.

Thames Valley PCC Matthew Barber said: "Jason has been with Thames Valley Police for over six years.

"He is done an excellent job as Deputy Chief Constable and throughout his career with the force and I look to forward to working closely with him in the future.”
