Dorset’s T/DCC to take on role on a permanent basis

DCC Rachel Farrell has been carrying out the role on a temporary basis since the summer.

Dorset Police has appointed their current Temporary Deputy Chief Constable Rachel Farrell to fill the role on a permanent basis moving forward.

DCC Farrell had joined the force in March 2022 as Assistant Chief Constable. Before that she was a Chief Superintendent with Hampshire as Commander overseeing Prevention, Vulnerability and Partnerships.

She first joined the police in 1995 and has spent her career predominantly in CID – particularly in major and serious crime.

She has led in public protection, child abuse, rape and serious sexual offences and intelligence and has been a district commander in rural and city environments as well as having worked in Contact Management.
