Investigations Command is the core crime fighting capability of the NCA. We take an intelligence-led approach and concentrate on tackling the criminals and risks to the public which are beyond the capability or capacity of other law enforcement bodies. Our work is largely focused on investigating Organised Immigration Crime, Human Trafficking, Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Economic Crime, Firearms, Drugs, Kidnap and Extortion and Money Laundering. The Investigations Command provides a flexible, shared operational capability, designed to maximise the impact of the UK's collective resources against serious and organised crime. Our teams respond to a broad range of threats, many of which also remain a responsibility for police forces and other agencies as well as private industry.

Crime Scene Investigator
About the Role:
CSI’s are trained to a high standard to ensure the best evidence is available to the investigation and to the Criminal Justice System, using a variety of methods to recover physical evidence such as friction ridge detail, DNA, footwear marks and trace evidence.
Your role will be to process all types of crime scenes using specialist, approved
techniques to visualise, capture and recover digital and trace evidence,
and gather information and intelligence as part of an investigation.
Your responsibilities will be and not limited to:
Support investigations through the preservation, assessment and
recovery of evidence at all crime types using a multitude of
forensic techniques which may link an individual to the scene.
Observe, assess and record all aspects of a crime scene and the immediate environment, ensuring that all findings are available to support the wider investigation.
Handle exhibits from investigations in line with agreed protocols to maintain the integrity, continuity and security of evidence in support of investigative processes and court proceedings.
Co-ordinate CSI deployments using Police systems including RMS, CMP and Microsoft Teams.
Prepare and present evidence, including, but not limited to, written statements, scene examination reports, oral presentation at court and prepare exhibits for onward submission to the laboratories.
Provide specialist forensic advice and support to investigators, developing and implementing short term plans and objectives which support the objectives of the wider investigation. At the earliest opportunity, ensure that investigating officers are made aware of the forensic potential of a crime scene.
Deliver training to key stakeholders in relation to crime scene investigations to improve knowledge and understanding of the associated processes, sharing best practice locally, regionally and nationally to aid collaboration and continuous improvement.
To be fully conversant with the relevant sections of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) and its Codes of Practice, ensuring that the correct legislation relating to Powers of Entry and Seizure are applied. To be fully conversant and remain compliant with the Forensic Science Regulator (FSR) Code of Practice.
Partake in regular competency assessments such as practical mock scenes, peer reviews and knowledge checks to comply with FSR Codeof Practice.
To be aware of Force policies on Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Data Protection and comply with the legislation and the standards of “good practice”.

JOU Traffic Management Officer
Are you looking for a new and exciting opportunity?
Our Safer Roads Unit (SRU) are looking for a JOU Traffic Management Officer.
A good understanding of the road traffic act will be beneficial with training provided to understand the details of road signing, engineering and traffic regulation orders.
Although you will be assigned to manage all enquiries for a specific area, as part of the team you will be expected to attend any location across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to assist with deployment of our equipment and site visits with other members of the team.
As part of the Safer Roads Unit, our team deals with the specific details of traffic legislation and road safety, working closely with many stakeholders and external partners.
