SUPERINTENDENT

This recruitment is for the Superintendent of the CID Portfolio. The post holder oversees performance assurance, governance frameworks, and strategic capability development across detective units. The post holder will have investigative oversight and directs serious and complex crime investigations, such as homicide, cybercrime, and public protection. The post holder will have resource and personnel leadership and manages senior detective ranks and allocates specialist resources like digital forensics and intelligence units. The post holder will lead partnership and standard delivery and drives service-wide improvements in compliance, victim support, and multi-agency criminal justice collaboration.

Education, Experience and Skills

The post holder must have:

  1.  Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Law, Public Administration, Executive Police Leadership or related field.
  2.  Three (3) years’ experience as a senior leader at the rank of Inspector or Chief Inspector.
  3.  Minimum ILM Level 5, preferable level 7 leadership certification or equivalent certification.
  4.  Certified as a Strategic Firearms Commander.
  5.  Certified as a Gold Commander.
  6.  Completion of police leadership or command programme at the strategic level.
  7.  Experience as a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO).
  8.  Proven record of managing major / critical incidents and critical operations.
  9.  Experience in inter-agency collaboration, community engagement and managing crime reduction projects.
  10.  Experience in implementing and managing change programmes.
  11.  Other relevant continuous professional development training.

Remuneration and Benefits:

Salaries are offered without deductions. The Government provides an additional 12% pension contribution and health insurance for employees and their dependents. Benefits will be determined in accordance with the Police Act and Police Regulations, the Public Service Management Act and Personnel Regulations, the Public Service Pensions Law and the CINICO Health Plan. Pension and health benefits are non-contributory.
