Tattoos

If you have tattoos that may be visible while wearing uniform (for example on your hands, arms, face, or neck), you’ll be asked to upload photographs of them as part of your application. Our Recruitment Team will review these in line with our tattoo and standards of dress policy to ensure they meet professional requirements.

Qualifications

You will need to be educated to QCF Level 2 (GCSE at grade A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent) in both English and Mathematics, or have relevant work experience at an equivalent level.

There may also be a requirement and opportunity to study towards English and/or Maths qualifications, which our Learning and Development Standards Unit will discuss, support and guide you through.

Our other entry requirements for the PCSO role are:

  • A full manual diving licence (desirable only)
  • Confidence with basic office IT skills

Salary and Other Benefits

This is a role that not only offers pride and purpose, but also a competitive package that recognises your commitment.

When you join us as a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), you’ll start on a salary of £27,204. On top of this, you could earn around £4,800 per year in weekend enhancements and shift allowances (depending on your shift pattern), payable once you’ve completed your initial training.

You will have 24 days of annual leave holiday per year.
