Key Responsibilities Include:
• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous review of intelligence policy, analytical frameworks, and Service-wide intelligence and analytical strategy, ensuring alignment with RCIPS organisational priorities, national security requirements, and the principles of intelligence-led policing. This includes establishing clear governance structures, defining analytical standards and methodologies, and ensuring consistent application across all departments.
• Ensure that intelligence and analytical outputs are fully integrated into organisational risk management and governance processes, enabling the identification, assessment, and mitigation of strategic and operational risks. This includes providing timely and evidence-based intelligence to inform risk registers, strategic assessments, and organisational planning, ensuring that emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and trends are clearly articulated and understood at senior leadership level.
Knowledge, Education & Experience:
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, Psychology, Data Analytics or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
• A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience working in an analytical environment in a crime and/or intelligence role within a law enforcement organisation.
• Training or certification in safeguarding, child protection, domestic abuse, or vulnerability assessment is advantageous.
• Three to five years’ experience in leading analytical or intelligence functions at a strategic level.
• Demonstrates resilience and self-motivation, with the ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
