Disclosure Officer

Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Disclosure Officer for a Financial Regulator. The Disclosure Officer delivers disclosure reviews under clear direction, focusing on accuracy, consistency and timeliness. The role forms part of a wider disclosure team and contributes to the efficient completion of disclosure reviews on assigned cases or workstreams.

Location: Stratford, London (hybrid, remote will be considered)
Contract: until end of March 2027, may be extended further.
Salary: £25 PAYE / £32.84 UMB per hour
Vetting: Active SC clearance preferable, or willing to undertake.

Main Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be expected to work within a complex disclosure review exercise involving the assessment, categorisation and review of investigation material. As such, we are particularly interested in individuals who can evidence experience in the following areas:

  • CPIA disclosure and unused material review.
  • Determining relevance and disclosure considerations in criminal investigations.
  • Application of CPIA Codes of Practice and Attorney General’s Disclosure Guidelines.
  • Preparation and management of disclosure schedules.
  • Identification and escalation of potentially disclosable and sensitive material.
  • Working closely with Disclosure Officers, investigators, legal teams and wider stakeholders.
  • Managing large volumes of electronic and documentary material whilst maintaining accurate audit trails and decision-making records.
  • Experience of working within law enforcement, regulatory, prosecution or other criminal justice agencies.

Person Specification
Minimum:

  • Prior experience in either criminal law or law enforcement.
  • Demonstrable experience applying the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 (CPIA).
  • Proven experience of complex criminal investigations.

Essential:

  • Recent and relevant experience working as a Disclosure Officer or with defence‑disclosure responsibilities.
  • Experience working on disclosure exercises in large and complex cases.
  • Ability to analyse complex evidence and take responsibility for making timely decisions based on analysis of relevant information.
  • Sound judgement and the confidence to stand behind decisions when necessary and appropriate.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage clearly and collaboratively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines, and to maintain high standards in a busy environment.
  • Experience using Excel and digital review platforms including technology assisted review tools, is desirable.
