The FSA is a non-ministerial department of over 1600 people. We play a critical role in protecting public health and consumers’ wider interests in food across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Our vision is an important one - to drive change, delivering “food you can trust” and working towards a healthier and more sustainable food system. The National Food Crime Unit (NFCU) provides the FSA’s law enforcement capability, seeking to create as hostile an environment as possible for those seeking to involve themselves in food crime in the UK. Identifying, disrupting and deterring serious food criminality, the NFCU works with key internal and external stakeholders to protect the nation’s food.
We are looking for an Investigator to be aligned to our Birmingham investigations team to play a vital role in investigating activity endangering the nation’s food. The successful candidate does not need to be geographically based in the Birmingham area – but regular travel to Birmingham will be required. The successful post holder will have experience of conducting investigations in a criminal, civil, regulatory or food environment. You will enjoy working as part of a team and engaging with stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
