Portsmouth City Council - COVID Business Compliance Officer
Red Snapper Managed Services are currently seeking a part-time COVID Business Compliance Officer (CBCO) to operate in Portsmouth until the end of September – this is likely to be extended longer. The team deployed operates 7 days a week, 1600hrs to 0000hrs (with flexibility on times).
We are looking for one individual to work two (2) days a week - Thursday and Friday. You will be joining the team as soon as possible.
This role attracts an hourly rate of £12.62 (PAYE including holiday roll-up). 7.5 hours a day.
Red Snapper Managed Services (RSMS) is a specialist provider of professional investigation, community safety and enforcement support services to authorities working within the criminal investigation, enforcement, criminal justice and offender management sectors.
RSMS are looking to engage an experienced individual to take on the role as a CBCO where you will provide a professional, smart and high-visibility patrolling presence; in order to ensure the safety of local residents and that the latest government guidance is being followed.
The successful candidates must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to manage conflict and difficult situations. You will also be required to work with other partners within the council, the voluntary sector and police whilst providing a frontline service addressing community concerns.
You will be required to undergo training prior to deployment, delivered through our training team and there will be continuing professional development whilst deployed on the engagement
You will be provided with a professional overt uniform for patrolling.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
Our CBCOs encourage social distancing measures, providing:
Advice and education to business and the public;
Capturing and reporting evidence and intelligence of non-compliance;
Moving groups on that are ignoring the current regulations;
Ensuring compliance of local COVID-19 regulations with the public and businesses;
Dissemination of information on best practice;
Monitoring of signs and physical measures to ensure compliance; and
Work closely with other multi-agency partners (Police, community safety, environmental).
Acting as ‘eyes and ears’ on the ground; CBCOs are responsible for advising on any breaches of social distancing and where necessary, reporting ongoing problems for further intervention.
Recent experience within a law enforcement/security role is ideal.
The post holders need to be physically fit as they will be on their feet for up to 80% of their shift and be prepared to work in all weathers.
Someone who enjoys working with members of the public but who has the confidence to lead, mediate, negotiate and be diplomatic in what can be challenging circumstances.
Experience of completing witness statements and completing relevant forms.
All roles will be subject to DBS clearance.
