Lead Disclosure Officer

Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Lead Disclosure Officer – Enforcement for a UK regulatory body.

We’re looking for a lead Disclosure Officer to create disclosure strategies for the Enforcement team’s most complex criminal and regulatory investigations and then leading the delivery of the disclosure exercises to ensure cases are ready for the commencement of proceedings.

Location – Brighton (Hybrid, 6 days a month in the office)
Contract – Permanent
Salary – Starting from £48,425 per annum dependent on skills and experience, plus excellent benefits package.

Main duties and responsibilities

You will:

  • Create disclosure strategies and lead disclosure exercises in our most complex criminal and regulatory investigations.
  • Direct management and operational control of disclosure exercises within the Investigations case portfolio as well as acting in an advisory role.
  • Overseeing and managing the work of deputy disclosure officers ensuring the effective progression of disclosure exercises to reach timely outcomes, including providing technical guidance, strategic advice and support and escalating issues to Principals or Case Team Lawyers where necessary.
  • Making decisions on disclosure exercises in line with the statutory framework, Codes of Practice, associated guidelines and internal policies and ensuring the Enforcement team is adhering to their disclosure duties.
  • Drafting and advising on all disclosure documents including disclosure plans, disclosure review guidance and Disclosure Management Documents.

Person Specification
Essential:

  • Recent and relevant experience of working as a lead disclosure officer
  • Proven experience in managing disclosure in large and complex cases.
  • Ability to analyse complex evidence and take responsibility for making timely decisions based on relevant analysis exercising sound judgment and a willingness to defend judgements as necessary and when appropriate.
  • Ability to identify risks, propose mitigations and influence internal and external stakeholders through excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to form and maintain effective working relationships with peers, management, internal and external stakeholders across the organisation and with external agencies.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of leading and developing teams, including training and mentoring.
  • Previous experience using evidence review platforms and/or case management systems
