Total package worth up to £66k pa
Package consists of a salary of £40k-44k pa (depending on experience and/or qualifications) plus an International Supplement of £15k-£22k (depending on circumstances).

The Royal St Helena Police (RSHP) comprises of a Chief of Police, a Detective Chief Inspector, three Inspectors, five Sergeants (including one Detective Sergeant who manages this post) and 19 Constables (including three Detective Constables). In addition, the RSHP has one Inspector, one Sergeant and three Constables based on Ascension Island, and it may occasionally be necessary for you to travel there in order to provide support to those officers.
You will utilise a range of appropriate investigative approaches to gather material, placing the victim at the centre of all actions and decisions, to safely and effectively investigate serious and complex crimes with a view to achieving an appropriate outcome for that investigation.
You will have broad experience of working within a serious or complex crime investigation environment and of investigating sexual offences against children and/or vulnerable adults. Ideally, you will also have experience of working within a major crime, public protection or historical review team, in the examination and extraction of data from mobile phones or other digital media and of working in partnership with external stakeholders. You will also understand current policing challenges, efficiency and diversity issues.
In addition, you must demonstrate a commitment to the Royal St. Helena Police Service Code of Ethics and use your diverse expertise and experiences to ensure your time on the island has the broadest benefit to St Helena. As a police officer funded through the Technical Co-Operation Programme, you will be expected to share your knowledge and skills beyond the workplace, contributing to workforce, community and capacity development on St Helena and Ascension Island.
