CYBER FORENSIC INVESTIGATOR

Preference will be given to suitably qualified and experienced Caymanians

The Cyber Forensic Investigator will investigate cyber-dependent and cyber-enabled crimes using digital forensics. Responsibilities include conducting forensic examinations, assisting with ongoing investigations, and supporting the 4P approach (Pursue, Prevent, Protect, Prepare) within the Cayman Islands. Key tasks involve providing technical advice to officers, preparing admissible evidence for court, and investigating online child sexual abuse material. Reporting to the Head of Cyber Crime Investigation within the Cyber Crime Digital Forensic Unit, the role may involve additional duties to maintain service quality.

Key Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited to:

  • Examine 800-1,000 electronic devices annually.
  • Perform acquisitions and analyses of digital media, maintaining evidence integrity.
  • Produce detailed reports and serve as an expert witness in court.
  • Collect and analyse data for cybercrime cases.
  • Coordinate investigations with local and international stakeholders.
  • Handle referrals concerning child abuse imagery.
  • Generate intelligence to identify and apprehend offenders.
  • Assist in implementing safeguarding measures.

Knowledge, Education & Work Experience:

  1. Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 4 years of experience in cybercrime investigation and digital forensics, including analysis of computers and mobile devices for criminal investigation; OR
  • At least 2 years of experience in investigating cybercrime incidents and managing cybersecurity incidents.
  1. Certification in digital forensics and cyber-crime investigation from a recognised digital forensic platform.
