Temporary deputy chief appointed

Published: Friday 4 July 2014

Warwickshire Police has announced the appointment of a temporary deputy chief constable as the current holder of the post announced his retirement.

T/DCC Lewis Benjamin (pictured) will take up the position in early August, shortly before DCC Neil Brunton leaves in September.

Following his successful progression through the selection process, Warwickshire Chief Constable Andy Parker extended his congratulations to T/DCC Benjamin and said he looked forward to his skills being used in the second-in-command role.

T/DCC Benjamin began his career with the Metropolitan Police and carried out a wide variety of roles with the force. He was responsible for leading the change and community partnerships as well as specialist crime intelligence.

He joined Warwickshire Police in 2006 as an assistant chief constable where he was responsible for the national portfolio for serious organised crime. He later became responsible for protective services.
