Investigation Conference

Hinckley Island Hotel, Leicestershire

 

On 23rd and 24th January 2012, The ACPO Child Protection and Abuse Investigation Working Group are hosting their annual conference. The conference will feature speakers from the police service and a range of partnership agencies providing great learning opportunities for delegates.

The key aim of the event is to bring together practitioners in this complex area to share their learning.

The conference is aimed at strategic leaders, managers and frontline practitioners who work in this complex field of investigation.

Invited speakers include Tim Loughton M.P., Parliamentary

Under-Secretary of State for Children and Families and James

Brokenshire M.P., Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Crime and Security.

The theme of the conference will be:

”A United Approach to Child Protection”

Case study based sessions will include:

• Operation ‘Little Stars’ (Abuse in an Educational Setting)

• Internet Abuse and Future Solutions

• The Challenge of Non Accidental Injuries

• Understanding Faith & Cultural Abuse

• Improving Risk Assessments

 

 

Cost

The cost of the conference will be £250. This includes entry to all conference sessions, one night accommodation and all meals including a gala dinner. Additionally we have negotiated a special rate of £75 for bed and breakfast the evening prior to the conference.

A wide range of sponsors and exhibitors providing delegates with an excellent opportunity to network will support the event and share best practice with supporters and colleagues from within the same area of expertise.

For police purposes only, attendance at the conference is eligible for PIP CPD points.
